| Platform | Type | Best For | Key Fact |

| XTB Online Investing | Mobile (Android & iOS) | Most traders — all-in-one trading + account management | 10M+ downloads, 4.6★, biometric login, dark mode |
| xStation 5 Desktop | PC / Mac download | Advanced charting, multi-monitor setups | 37 indicators, up to 16 charts, stock screener, heatmap |
| xStation 5 Web | Browser (no download) | Quick access from any computer — no installation | Same features as desktop, works on any OS |
Below, we cover every version in detail: how to download on Android, iPhone, and PC, how the mobile and desktop versions differ, whether XTB APK downloads are safe, and what to do about the most common app issues.
Download XTB for Android (Google Play)
The official XTB Android app is called “XTB Online Investing” on Google Play, published by XTB S.A. It has over 10 million downloads, a 4.6-star rating from 154,000+ reviews, and was last updated in June 2026.
How to Download
- Open the XTB Google Play listing directly, or search “XTB Online Investing” in the Play Store and look for the app published by XTB S.A. — it has 10M+ downloads.
- Tap Install. The app is approximately 154 MB.
- Open the app and log in with your XTB email and password, or tap “Open account” to register. Account opening takes approximately 8–15 minutes with video identity verification directly in the app.
- Set up biometric login — go to Profile (top left) → Security → enable fingerprint for faster access.
Searching “XTB” on Google Play returns an unrelated chemistry app (by developer jh) that has nothing to do with trading. The real XTB trading app is published by “XTB S.A.” and has 10 million+ downloads. If the download count is low or the publisher name doesn’t match, it is not the real app.
Version Details
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| App name | XTB Online Investing |
| Publisher | XTB S.A. |
| Version | 2.166.0 |
| Size | ~154 MB |
| Minimum OS | Android 8.0+ (Oreo) |
| Last updated | June 2026 |
| Downloads | 10,000,000+ |
| Rating | 4.6/5 (154,000+ reviews) |
The Android app provides full xStation 5 functionality: 5,400+ CFDs, 4,500+ real stocks and ETFs at 0% commission, fractional shares, Investment Plans, deposits, withdrawals, dark mode, 16 languages, and push notifications. It uses the same login as the web and desktop platforms and syncs in real time.
Download XTB for iPhone / iPad (App Store)
The official XTB iOS app is called “XTB Online Investing” on the App Store, published by XTB S A. It requires iOS 17.0 or later, works on iPhone and iPad with an optimised tablet layout, and includes limited Apple Watch support for monitoring prices and alerts.
How to Download
- Open the XTB App Store listing directly, or search “XTB Online Investing” in the App Store.
- Tap Get / Install. The download is approximately 636 MB on iOS.
- Open the app and log in or create an account. Enable Face ID or Touch ID in Profile → Security for biometric login.
The iOS version (~636 MB) is significantly larger than Android (~154 MB) because Apple bundles assets differently and includes the iPad-optimised layout and Apple Watch companion in the same download. Both versions have the same features — the size difference is a packaging issue, not a feature gap.
The iOS app has the same features as the Android version. It supports Face ID, Touch ID, dark mode, 16 languages, and real-time sync with the desktop and web platforms. The iPad version provides a larger, optimised layout for tablet trading.
Download XTB for PC / Desktop / Laptop
xStation 5 desktop is the full-power version of XTB’s trading platform, with 37 technical indicators, up to 16 simultaneous chart windows, and multi-monitor support — features that make detailed technical analysis significantly more effective than on a phone screen. It is available for both Windows and macOS.
The desktop version includes everything in the mobile app plus the complete indicator suite (37 vs ~20 on mobile), multi-chart workspaces, a full stock screener and heatmap, three-click chart trading, investment baskets for batch instrument trading, and access to the xStation API for custom integrations.
How to Download
- Go to xtb.com and navigate to the Platform page.
- Download the installer for your operating system — Windows (.exe) or macOS (.dmg).
- Run the installer and follow the prompts. Installation takes under 2 minutes.
- Open xStation 5 and log in with the same email and password you use on the mobile app and web platform.
Mobile vs. Desktop — What Is Different?
| Feature | Mobile App | Desktop / Web |
|---|---|---|
| Technical indicators | ~20 | 37 |
| Simultaneous charts | 1 | Up to 16 |
| Drawing tools | 29 (synced) | 29 (synced) |
| Stock screener & heatmap | Limited | Full versions |
| Investment baskets | No | Yes |
| xStation API access | No | Yes |
| Biometric login | Yes | No |
| Push notifications | Yes | No |
| Deposits & withdrawals | Yes | Yes |
| Investment Plans | Yes | Yes |
| Fractional shares | Yes | Yes |
The bigger screen, 37 indicators, and multi-chart layouts make technical analysis far more effective on desktop. Use mobile for execution, monitoring, and account management on the go. A trade opened on desktop appears instantly on mobile — they are the same platform. Drawing tools sync between mobile and desktop; watchlists do not.
Note: XTB does not support MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5. XTB removed MT4 in April 2024 and has never offered MT5. There is no MT4 or MT5 download for XTB — xStation 5 is the only platform. If you specifically need MT4/MT5, XTB is not the right broker for you.
xStation 5 Web — Trade Without Downloading Anything
xStation 5 web runs entirely in your browser at xstation5.xtb.com — no download, no installation, no updates, no storage used. It is the same xStation 5 platform served as a web application. It works on any computer with a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge), including shared or public computers where you cannot install software.
The web version has the same features as the desktop download — 37 indicators, multi-chart layouts, full order types, Investment Plans, deposits and withdrawals. The main advantage of the downloadable desktop app is slightly faster performance and native OS integration. For most traders, the web version is functionally identical.
How to Access
- Go to xstation5.xtb.com in any browser. International clients should use xstation5.xtb.com/?branch=int.
- Log in with your XTB email and password.
- Start trading. Your accounts, positions, and trade history are the same as on mobile and desktop.
If you cannot or do not want to install the desktop app, xStation 5 web is the zero-commitment alternative. If you trade regularly from one computer, the desktop download offers slightly better performance.
XTB APK Download — Is It Safe?
XTB does not distribute an official APK file on its website. Unlike some brokers that publish direct APK downloads, the only official source for the XTB Android app is Google Play Store. Third-party APK sites (APKMirror, APKPure, Aptoide) do host the XTB app, but downloading from these carries risk.
Third-party APK sites can distribute modified app versions that look identical to the real XTB app but contain malware or credential-stealing code. XTB has no official APK download page — any APK you find online is from an unofficial source. If Google Play is not available on your device, use xStation 5 web (xstation5.xtb.com) in your mobile browser instead — it provides the same trading functionality without requiring an app download.
Note for iOS users: APK files are an Android-only format. There is no “XTB APK for iOS” — iPhone and iPad users download XTB exclusively from the Apple App Store.
Which XTB Version Should You Download?
XTB’s platform situation is straightforward: there is only one app — XTB Online Investing — and it does everything. The only decision is whether you also want the desktop version for advanced charting.
| You Want To… | Use This | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Trade + deposit + withdraw + manage your account | Mobile app | All-in-one: execution, deposits, withdrawals, Investment Plans, biometric login |
| Do advanced charting with multiple indicators | xStation 5 Desktop | 37 indicators, 16 charts, multi-monitor, stock screener, heatmap |
| Trade on a shared or public computer | xStation 5 Web | Browser-based, no installation, no trace on the computer |
| Buy fractional shares or set up Investment Plans | Any version | Available on mobile, desktop, and web |
| Use MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 | Not available | XTB removed MT4 in April 2024 and has never supported MT5 |
| Copy other traders automatically | Not available | XTB does not offer copy trading or Expert Advisors |
Common XTB App Issues
The XTB app works for most users most of the time, but it has known issues that are worth knowing about before you rely on it for active trading.
Chart Freezing
The most common complaint across app store reviews: the market watch and charts occasionally stop updating, showing stale prices while the market moves. If this happens, force-close the app and reopen it. If the issue persists, switch to xStation 5 web (xstation5.xtb.com) in your phone’s browser — same account, same positions, no app required.
Push Notifications Not Enabled by Default
Price alerts and order execution notifications are not turned on automatically when you install the app. You must activate them manually via the Client Office (co.xtb.com) → My Profile → Notifications. This is not intuitive — most traders expect notifications to work out of the box. If your alerts are not arriving, check this setting first.
November 2025 Platform Outage
On 5 November 2025, an xStation 5 outage prevented clients from modifying or closing CFD positions for several hours. XTB acknowledged the failure was caused by a data transfer limitation between the trading engine and the mobile/web platforms. XTB announced migration to a new architecture, scheduled for completion by Q1 2026. This was a single incident, not a recurring pattern — but it is worth knowing that platform outages can happen with any broker, and having the web version bookmarked as a backup is good practice.
Watchlists Do Not Sync Between Mobile and Web
Custom watchlists created on the mobile app are stored locally and do not sync with xStation 5 web or desktop. If you set up watchlists on your phone, you will need to recreate them on desktop. Drawing tools, however, do sync across all platforms.
If the app is misbehaving — chart freeze, login issues, failed trades — open xstation5.xtb.com in your phone’s browser. Same account, same positions, same features, no download. This is the fastest workaround for any app-side issue.
How to Use the XTB App
Downloading the app is step one — setting it up correctly matters more, because the first 10 minutes determine whether you start with good habits or preventable mistakes.
First Steps After Download
- Switch to a demo account first. Tap Profile (top left) → “Switch to DEMO account.” The demo gives you virtual funds to learn the interface without risk. International entity (Belize) demos do not expire.
- Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) immediately — go to Profile → Security → Two-Factor Authentication. Use an authenticator app (Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator) rather than SMS for reliability. 2FA is mandatory on all XTB accounts. See our XTB Login guide for full security setup.
- Enable biometric login — Profile → Security → enable fingerprint or Face ID so you do not need to type your password and 2FA code every time.
- Turn on push notifications. Go to the Client Office (co.xtb.com) → My Profile → Notifications to activate price alerts and order execution notifications. They are off by default.
- Make a small test deposit to verify the deposit process works for your payment method. XTB charges zero deposit fees and has no minimum deposit. See our XTB Deposit guide for step-by-step instructions.
- Place one small trade, then withdraw to test the full deposit-trade-withdraw cycle before committing real capital. XTB charges zero withdrawal fees on amounts above $50.
How the Different Versions Work Together
All three versions — mobile app, desktop, and web — connect to the same XTB account with the same email and password. A trade opened on desktop appears instantly on your phone. Your balances, positions, and trade history sync across all platforms in real time. Drawing tools sync between mobile and desktop. Watchlists do not sync — create them separately on each device.
The download is step one. The real value comes from testing the full deposit-trade-withdraw cycle before committing real capital. Start with a demo, make a test deposit, verify the withdrawal works, then trade with confidence.
Conclusion
XTB’s platform setup is simpler than most brokers: one app handles everything on mobile, and the same xStation 5 platform is available as a desktop download or directly in your browser. There is no second app to install, no MetaTrader to configure, and no confusing choice between multiple versions.
For most traders, the mobile app is all you need to start. Add xStation 5 desktop or web when you want the full 37-indicator charting suite and multi-window layouts. All versions connect to the same account and sync in real time — except watchlists, which you will need to set up separately on each device.

XTB is available in 100+ countries, but not everywhere. In Africa, XTB currently accepts clients from South Africa, Angola, Mauritania, and Zambia only — all under the international entity (XTB International Limited, Belize). XTB is not available in the United States, India, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, and many other jurisdictions. The app may download in restricted countries, but account registration will be blocked.
No. XTB does not offer copy trading or automated trading (Expert Advisors). xStation 5 is a manual trading platform — you place and manage all trades yourself. XTB does offer Investment Plans — automated recurring purchases of ETFs — which is the closest it comes to passive investing.
XTB push notifications are not enabled by default. You must activate them manually via the Client Office (co.xtb.com) → My Profile → Notifications. Also check that your phone’s notification settings allow the XTB app to send push notifications. Price alerts auto-delete after triggering — you need to set new ones after each alert fires.
