Terms of Use

Terms of Use

These terms set out the rules for using tic.co.tz. By using the site, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site.

Last updated: 14 April 2026 · Version 1.0

1. The agreement

These Terms of Use form a binding agreement between you (“you”, “the reader”, “the user”) and TIC Editorial Ltd. (“TIC”, “we”, “us”). They apply to every visit to tic.co.tz, every use of our content, and every interaction with our forms, newsletter, or reader-comment system.

If any part of these terms is unacceptable to you, do not use the site.

2. Who we are

TIC Editorial Ltd. is a company registered in Tanzania, publishing at tic.co.tz. Our editorial and legal contact address is in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. For general contact, see our contact page.

3. Who can use TIC

TIC is intended for adults (18 years or older) who want to understand online trading brokers. By using the site, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You are using the site lawfully in your country.
  • You understand that online trading involves a high risk of loss.
  • You are not using the site to make a regulated financial decision on behalf of someone else without their consent.

4. Nature of our content

TIC publishes independent reviews of online trading brokers and educational content about trading. Our content is general, not personal. Nothing on TIC is:

  • Personal financial advice or investment advice.
  • A recommendation to open, close, or change any account.
  • A guarantee of any outcome, return, or broker behaviour.
  • Tax, legal, or regulatory advice for your specific circumstances.

Full detail is in our disclaimer.

5. Acceptable use

You may use TIC for personal, non-commercial purposes — reading articles, comparing brokers, asking questions through our contact forms, and sharing links with friends. You may not:

  • Scrape, copy, or mirror substantial parts of the site without written permission.
  • Republish TIC content on another site, in a newsletter, or in print without written permission.
  • Use TIC content to train a machine-learning model, unless you have our express written consent.
  • Attempt to hack, disable, or interfere with the site, its security, or its users.
  • Use the site to harass, defame, or threaten any person.
  • Submit false information, impersonate others, or misuse our reader-submission tools.
  • Use our forms or email inboxes to send unsolicited marketing, phishing, or spam.

6. Intellectual property

All content on TIC — including articles, reviews, methodology rubrics, data tables, design, logos, and photography — is the property of TIC or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may:

  • Read, save, and print articles for personal use.
  • Quote short extracts (under 150 words) with clear attribution to TIC and a link back to the original article.
  • Link to TIC articles from your own site, social media, or messages.

You may not:

  • Republish full articles, data tables, or methodology content without written permission.
  • Remove or alter copyright notices or attribution.
  • Use TIC’s name, logo, or branding in a way that suggests endorsement you do not have.

For permission to reuse TIC content, email editorial@tic.co.tz.

7. User-submitted content

Some parts of TIC allow reader submissions — comments, scam tip-offs, broker review requests, and correction notices. When you submit content to TIC:

  • You confirm the content is yours, is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
  • You grant TIC a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to publish, edit, translate, and promote the content in connection with TIC’s editorial work.
  • You agree that TIC may moderate, edit, or remove submissions at our discretion — for example, if they are off-topic, defamatory, or contain personal data of others.
  • You agree not to submit trading credentials, bank details, or other sensitive data we do not need.

If you believe content on TIC infringes your rights, email legal@tic.co.tz with the URL, your evidence, and the specific right you believe has been infringed.

8. External sites & affiliate links

TIC links to external sites, including broker websites, regulator registers, and news outlets. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control. A link is not an endorsement of every page on the linked site.

Some of our links are affiliate links — see our affiliate disclosure for the full rules. Affiliate status does not change the cost to you of using a broker or the rating we give the broker.

9. Availability

We work hard to keep TIC available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may take the site down for maintenance, updates, or security work, usually without advance notice. We are not liable for losses arising from site downtime.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TIC, its editorial team, its contributors, and its service providers are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss or damage arising from:

  • Your use of, or inability to use, tic.co.tz.
  • Your reliance on any content on the site.
  • Any decision you make to open, use, or close a trading account.
  • The actions or failures of any broker we have reviewed or linked to.
  • Any interruption, error, virus, or security incident affecting the site.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, personal injury, or death caused by our negligence.

Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid to TIC in the 12 months before the claim — which, for a free publication, is zero.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to TIC if you materially breach these terms — for example, by scraping, hacking, defaming, or submitting illegal content. Termination does not cancel sections of these terms that are meant to survive, including intellectual property, liability, and governing law.

You may stop using TIC at any time. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter using the link in every email and ask us to delete your data by contacting legal@tic.co.tz.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the site changes, when the law changes, or when we need to clarify something. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the current version. Your continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms. If the changes are material, we will flag them on the homepage or in our newsletter.

13. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, unless applicable local consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you a mandatory right to bring proceedings where you live.

Nothing in this section removes your statutory rights as a consumer under the law of your country.
