Deriv Login — Access Your Deriv Account
Log in to your existing Deriv account or register a new one:
Deriv offers several ways to access your trading account — via web browser, the Deriv mobile apps, social login (Google, Facebook, Apple), and directly through MT5 or cTrader. One important thing to know: your Deriv account password and your MT5/cTrader trading password are separate credentials. This is the most common source of confusion for Deriv users logging in for the first time.
How to Login to Deriv
Deriv supports four login paths: web browser, social login, mobile app, and direct platform login (MT5/cTrader). Each method uses your Deriv account credentials — except MT5 and cTrader, which have their own separate passwords set through Trader’s Hub.
Web Login (Browser)
- Go to deriv.com in your browser.
- Click “Log in” in the top-right corner.
- Enter your registered email and Deriv account password.
- Complete 2FA verification if enabled (enter the code from your authenticator app).
- You’re in. You’ll land on the Trader’s Hub, where you can access your trading accounts, deposit/withdraw, or open MT5/cTrader.
The official Deriv login domain is deriv.com (with subdomains like app.deriv.com for the web platform). The domain has remained stable — Deriv is not known for changing URLs like some unregulated brokers. If you see a login page on an unfamiliar or different domain, verify carefully before entering your credentials — it may be a phishing attempt.
Social Login (Google, Facebook, Apple)
- Go to the Deriv login page at deriv.com.
- Click the Google, Facebook, or Apple icon below the email/password fields.
- Authorize the connection in the popup window from your social account provider.
- Done. You’ll be logged into Deriv automatically.
If you created your Deriv account using your email and password, social login won’t work — even if the email address is the same. Social login only works if you originally registered through that social method. If you’re unsure how you registered, use email/password login and reset your password if needed.
Mobile App Login
- Open the Deriv app (Deriv GO, Deriv P2P, or the main Deriv app) on your phone.
- Tap “Log In” on the welcome screen.
- Enter your email and Deriv password, or use social login (Google, Facebook, Apple).
- Complete 2FA if enabled.
- You’re in. The app opens to your account dashboard.
If you don’t have the app yet, see our Deriv App Download guide for download links and which app to choose.
MT5 and cTrader Login (Separate Credentials)
This is where most Deriv users get confused. Your Deriv MT5 login is not the same as your Deriv.com email and password — MT5 uses a completely separate set of credentials (a numeric login ID + a trading password). The same applies to cTrader.
- Log in to deriv.com with your main Deriv email and password.
- Go to Trader’s Hub (the main dashboard).
- Find your MT5 or cTrader account under the relevant section.
- Click “Open” — a window shows your login ID and server name. Your password is not shown for security reasons.
- Use these credentials to log into MT5 (desktop app, web terminal, or mobile app) or cTrader.
You can reset your MT5 trading password from the Trader’s Hub in your Deriv account — look for the password icon next to your MT5 account. You don’t need to contact support. MT5 also has a separate “investor password” (view-only access for sharing with a mentor or signal provider) — make sure you’re resetting the right one.
Common Deriv Login Problems
Most Deriv login problems are caused by using the wrong credentials (Deriv password vs MT5 password), forgotten passwords, or browser issues. Deriv is a regulated, stable broker with a consistent domain, so access issues are usually credential- or browser-related rather than access restrictions — though occasional server or network problems can also occur.
Wrong Password / Can’t Log In
The most common cause is entering your Deriv account password in the MT5 app (or vice versa). These are different passwords. If you’re logging into deriv.com, use your Deriv email + password. If you’re logging into MT5, use the login ID + trading password from Trader’s Hub.
If your password is genuinely wrong:
- Go to deriv.com/reset-password.
- Enter your registered email address.
- Check your inbox for a password reset link from Deriv.
- Click the link and set a new password.
- Log in with your new password.
For MT5 password resets, log into your Deriv account first, go to Trader’s Hub, and reset the trading password from there.
Account Locked / Temporarily Blocked
Multiple failed login attempts may trigger a temporary account lock. If this happens, wait 15–30 minutes and try again, or contact Deriv support via live chat. If your account has been restricted for a different reason (compliance review, unusual activity), Deriv support will explain the specific cause and required steps to regain access.
Server Errors (400 / 502 / Page Not Loading)
If deriv.com won’t load or shows a server error:
- Clear your browser cache and cookies, then refresh the page.
- Try a different browser or use incognito/private mode.
- Check Deriv’s status — if the servers are undergoing maintenance, the issue is temporary.
- Try the mobile app as an alternative access point while web issues are resolved.
2FA Code Not Working
If your two-factor authentication code is rejected: make sure your phone’s clock is synced (authenticator apps are time-sensitive — even a 30-second drift can cause codes to fail). If you’ve lost access to your authenticator app entirely, contact Deriv support via live chat with your registered email — they’ll verify your identity and help disable 2FA so you can set it up again.
Social Login Not Working
If clicking the Google, Facebook, or Apple login button does nothing or shows an error: verify that you originally registered with that social method (it won’t work if you registered via email). Clear your browser cookies, try incognito mode, or switch to email/password login. If your social account’s email was changed, you may need to contact Deriv support for account recovery.
How to Protect Your Deriv Account
Deriv is regulated by the MFSA (Malta, EU), and your account benefits from the security standards required of EU-regulated financial services. Your login credentials are the primary line of defence — here’s how to keep your account secure.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
- Log in to deriv.com and go to Account Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Deriv recommends Authy or Google Authenticator).
- Enter the 6-digit code from the app to confirm setup.
- Done. Every login will now require both your password and the authenticator code.
2FA is the single most effective step you can take to protect your account. Even if your password is compromised, an attacker cannot log in without the code from your phone.
Monitor Login Activity
Check your Deriv account’s login history periodically. If you see logins from devices or locations you don’t recognise, change your password immediately and enable 2FA if you haven’t already.
Complete KYC Verification
Full identity verification isn’t just for withdrawals — it also makes account recovery possible if you lose access. Without KYC on file, Deriv support has limited ability to verify your identity and restore access to a locked account.
Conclusion
Logging into Deriv is straightforward whether you use the web platform, mobile app, social login, or MT5/cTrader directly. The main thing to remember is that Deriv uses separate passwords for your main account and your trading platforms (MT5, cTrader) — this is the most common source of login confusion, and once you understand it, the process is simple.
Deriv is a regulated broker with a stable domain (deriv.com) and is generally accessible across African countries without restrictions. If you encounter a login problem, it’s most likely a credential or browser issue rather than an access restriction. The password reset process takes under 5 minutes, and Deriv’s live chat support is available for anything more complex.
